- Thor meets Thor 2437 (Th 384). Thor crosses a dimensional rift and he meets Leir of the Celtic Gods (386).
- Wrestler Dennis Dunphy becomes Demolition Man and partners with Captain America to investigate the Power Broker (328). Captain America No More: Captain America is pressured to quit by the US government (secretly the Red Skull) and John Walker/Super Patriot becomes Captain America, tho a more brutal one (CA 332, 333-340).
- Iron Man battles Ghost (219) and begins “Armor Wars” (travels around the world disabling Stark tech used for evil purposes) (225-231).
- The West Coast Avengers: Lost in Space-Time: Hawkeye, Iron Man, Tigra, Wonder Man and Mockingbird are sent into the past, partly the Old West and partly Ancient Egypt (WCA 17-24).
- Kraven’s Last Hunt: Kraven takes Peter’s identity as Spider-Man, and finding peace at least, shoots himself (WoS 31-32, ASM 293-294, SSM 131-132).
- Mister Sinister, a creation and ally of Apocalypse, reveals himself to the X-Men (UXM 221).
- The Punisher is aided by Microchip (P4).
- Captain Britain forms Excalibur with his shape-changing lover Meggan, Nightcrawler, Rachel Summers and Kitty Pryde (Ex Sp Ed. 1).
1988
- Johnny and Alicia Masters (actually Lyja the Skrull) get married (FF 300). Reed and Sue quit (304). Crystal and the New Ms Marvel (Sharon Ventura) join (307). The Thing and Sharon Ventura/Ms. Marvel II go into space and get further mutated (310).
- Eddie Brock becomes Venom after he is infected by Spider-Man’s discarded symbiote suit (ASM 252-259)298-300,(315-317) (Secret Wars 8). Spidey meets Speedball. Gangwar between the Kingpin and the werewolf Lobo brothers (SSM 143).
- Spider-Man meets Speedball (ASM-A 22).
- The X-Men met the Australian Aborigine Gateway (227). Then they first visit Genosha, the mutant-populated island (235).
- Thor first meets Eric Masterson (Thunderstrike) (Thor 391).
- Daredevil meets the schizophrenic Typhoid Mary (254).
- Damage Control begins repairing things (Marv Age Ann 1988).
- East Coast Avengers disband (Av 291-297). WCA schism (37). ECA rebuilt (298-300)
- Great Lakes Avenger (WCA 46).
- Fall of the Mutants: The government considers a Mutant Registration Act (UXM 225-227, X-Fa 24-26, TNM 59-61).
- Evolutionary War: The High Evolutionary tries to drop a genetic bomb to speed up evolution.

- Steve Rogers fights the Red Skull in CA’s body, becomes CA again (CA350). Super-Patriot becomes US Agent 354. US Agent joins WCA (WCA V2.44). Captain America meets Crossbones, an agent of the Red Skull (CA 360).
- Atlantis Attacks: Namor’s Lemurian enemy Llyra and the Deviant Ghaur are involved in the return of the Elder God Set and the Serpent Crown.
- Thor & Avengers fight Seth & Surtur, Odin regains full power after fighting Surtur (Th 400). Thor merges with Eric Masterson (408). Thor meets the New Warriors (Kid Nova, Namorita, Firestar, Speedball, Vance Astrovik/Marvel Boy, Night Thrasher) (TH 411).
- The X-Men meet the mutant Jubilee who can shoot fireworks (UXM 244).
- Cross-Time Caper: Excalibur tries to get home after getting lost in different realities (Ex 12-22).

Then they get put on trial by the Time Variance Authority for too many time travel hijincks. Alicia is revealed to Lyja the Skrull (357). Alicia is recued from Devos the Devastator (359).
- The New Mutants meet Deadpool for the first time, as well as Domino and Gideon (98). Sunspot quits, but is replaced by Feral and Shatterstar (99). Cable takes over and the X-Force is born (XF1). X-force meets Garrison Kane/Weapon X, a former partner of Cable’s.
- Thor exiled for killing Loki, Eric Masterson becomes Thor (432, 433, Thor Corps 440).
- The X-Men battle Magneto on Genosha and Asteroid-M. Magneto sacrifices himself for Xavier (XM 1-3). Bishop, a time traveller from the future who can absorb energy, appears and joins the X-Men (UXM 282).
- Subterranean Wars - The Deviants, under Brutus, begin a war for territory with the other underground empires. Pushed back, these lesser powers are briefly forced to fight the surface-dwellers, before the Avengers unite to defeat the Deviants.
- Pt 1: The Avengers Annual #20- The Hulk meets Agamemnon and the Pantheon and joins the team (368/381).

- Apocalypse The Twelve
- In the Valley of Spirits/Dragons, the Mandarin and Iron Man battle the other alien/dragon crewmembers from the original ship which created the Mandarin. They are victorious when Tony channels his suit power into the Mandarin’s rings, but Mandy’s hands are blown off.
- After Betty Ross seemingly dies, the Hulk gets no rest as General Ryker hunts him to try to use radiation from the Hulk’s unique accident to save his wife’s life.ih 14
- Iron Man’s armor becomes sentient (IM V3.26-30)
- Marvel Boy, another Kree, lands on Earth. Mb 1
- Avengers recruit Triathlon(V3.27). Fight Infinites (Av Infinity 1-4)
